My Brownie Recipe

I make my brownies from a Mix.  I really like Barefoot Contessa Outrageous Brownie Mix, or Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix.

What I do to make it richer and more chocolate-y?  I add melted chocolate, in this case Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips, melted in a glass Pyrex bowl over a pan with simmering, not boiling, water.

For one tray of brownies I use about half a pack of the chocolate chips.  Try it!  It will make your brownies made from mix seem truly from scratch!  And they'll be much more moist!

After the brownies have cooled, as an added "drama," spoon a bit of confectioner's sugar on top! Thanks Markki Stroem for that tip.
